Home repair in Washington, DC

Washington is rowhouse work. Plaster walls, pocket doors that stopped sliding decades ago, trim with a century of paint on it, and new drywall in the basement from the last flip. Capitol Hill, Petworth, Brookland and Columbia Heights make up most of our calls.

Tell us what needs fixing. We text back within the hour, 8 to 6.

Or call or text (240) 858-0149. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.

Rowhouses, plaster and parking

The city has its own rules. Work in a historic district needs a review for anything visible from the street, most interior repairs need no permit, and the crew needs somewhere to park. Jobs in DC go to a contractor licensed in the District, and the license number is on your estimate.

Street parking and alley access decide how a DC job goes. We ask about parking when you book, bring the tools in on the first trip, and plan the day so the truck does not need to move. On blocks with no option we build the garage fee into the estimate so it is not a surprise.

Washington, DC questions

Are you licensed to work in DC?
Work in the District goes to a contractor licensed with the DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection. The license number is printed on your estimate.
Can you fix a pocket door in a rowhouse?
Yes. Most pocket doors need the track and rollers replaced, which means opening a strip of wall. We patch and paint it back the same visit.
Do you work in condos in Navy Yard and Shaw?
Yes. We need the building and management contact when you book so the certificate of insurance and work hours are set before the visit.
